A massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us on Sunday, February 23, to celebrate the opening of our new home at 5 Brock Avenue, rear unit!
It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces, as well as new ones, come together to mark this exciting milestone. Attendees spent the afternoon exploring our new space, chatting with staff and volunteers, and taking part in crafts and activities, including button and valentines making. A massive thank you to Scooter Girl toys for their donation of craft supplies, helping to make the afternoon a success. Our community really showed up, donating over 500 lbs of food and more than $2,000 to help us settle into our new space. We are blown away by this incredible support, and it’s safe to say that this new chapter is off to a sweet start.
We were also honoured to have Mayor Olivia Chow join us to say a few words about what this new space means for the Parkdale community.
This event would not have been possible without the unwavering generosity and kindness of our supporters, volunteers, and community. A huge thank you to Robinson Bread, Taylor Made Sweets & Treats, and ChocXO for their generous donations of snacks and refreshments. We would also like to thank T.O. Balloons for their donation of balloons, which helped to make our space feel festive and welcoming.
We are endlessly grateful to our dedicated volunteers, who gave their time, energy, and expertise to ensure everything ran smoothly. Whether it was setting up, welcoming guests, facilitating activities, or helping with donations, their hard work made this celebration truly unforgettable.
As we settle into our new home, we are happy to share that our first month at 5 Brock has gone smoothly, thanks to the unwavering support of our dedicated volunteers. Their hard work and commitment have ensured that our programs continue to run seamlessly, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their adaptability, insights, and time.
While we’ve made great strides, our space is still a work in progress. We are continuously shaping it to better serve the needs of our community, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you. With all of our programming now reunited under one roof, we’re more excited than ever about what the future holds.
