We are excited to be sharing more information about our new home at 5 Brock Avenue. Below you can find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the new space and what our move means for our community.

Where is 5 Brock located?
5 Brock Avenue is located near the corner of Queen St W and Brock Avenue. Our new location is
approximately a 5 minute walk east of our old location on Dunn.
If you are taking the Queen streetcar, we recommend getting off at the Brock Avenue stop.
What will the new space be used for?
The new space will house all of our programs and services, including our delivery program, in-person food programming, and office spaces for staff. Additionally, we aim to use this space to host community events and gatherings. Our first community event in the new space will take place on February 23. This event will celebrate our new home, stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Will there be a change in volunteer roles at the new location?
There will be some small changes to how volunteer roles look once we move to the new space, however most positions will remain the same. We aim to make the transition as smooth as possible by offering volunteers additional guidance and training when necessary. There may be minor adjustments to certain responsibilities, but we’ll continue to rely on our amazing volunteers to provide the same level of care and support to our community.
Will you continue to offer programming at 263 Dunn Avenue?
No. We will no longer operate any programming out of or continue to lease our current space at 263 Dunn Avenue. All services and programming will be moved to 5 Brock Avenue, allowing us to better serve our community.

Will you continue to operate with a shopping model?
Yes, we will continue to operate with a shopping model at 5 Brock Avenue. Why are you moving?
Owning a space we can call home has always been a goal of the Parkdale Community Food Bank, and purchasing 5 Brock has allowed us to accomplish this goal. Our current spaces are too small to operate efficiently and accommodate our community. This move allows us to provide a better experience for our clients, volunteers, and staff by improving accessibility, reducing wait times, and creating a more welcoming environment. Our new home will also give us the opportunity to grow in the future, if needed.
